Fintech Moldova has forged a strategic partnership with UNCHAIN Fintech Festival, Central and Eastern Europe’s main fintech event, to integrate Moldova’s growing financial technology ecosystem into the broader CEE innovation network. This collaboration aims to position Moldova as a dynamic player in regional fintech discussions while fostering cross-border partnerships and knowledge exchange.
UNCHAIN Festival: A Regional Catalyst
Held annually in Oradea, Romania, UNCHAIN Festival serves as a nexus for 500+ bankers, regulators, startups, and tech providers across Europe. The 2024 edition featured four stages covering topics like AI in finance, open banking 2.0, and payments innovation, with 70% of attendees representing banks and financial institutions. For 2025, the event expands its agenda to include digital banking, cross-border payments, and regulatory compliance, expecting 700+ delegates from 40 countries.
Synergies and Opportunities
By partnering with UNCHAIN, Fintech Moldova gains:
- Visibility: Showcase Moldovan startups and regulatory advancements to CEE investors and institutions.
- Networking: Direct access to central bankers (e.g., National Bank of Moldova, Croatia, Georgia) and fintech leaders like Visa and Google Cloud.
- Knowledge Transfer: Insights into regional trends like instant payments and SEPA integration, critical for Moldova’s EU alignment.
Stefan Nistor, Coordinator of Fintech Moldova, emphasized that this collaboration will “strengthen Moldova’s role as a bridge between Eastern and Western Europe”.
