On 3 October 2025, the 7th edition of the Fintech Moldova Conference (FMC25) brought together more than 400 participants from the finance, technology, and public sectors, reaffirming its position as Moldova’s leading platform for discussions on the future of financial innovation. Hosted at Digital Park in Chișinău, the conference gathered decision-makers, regulators, financial institutions, fintech founders, investors, and international partners from across Europe and beyond.
This year’s edition represented more than another successful conference. It marked an important milestone in Moldova’s journey toward becoming a regional hub for fintech, digital payments, artificial intelligence, and financial innovation.
When the Fintech Moldova Conference was first launched in 2019, its objective was straightforward: to bring together the key players in the ecosystem and start a conversation about the future of finance in Moldova. Seven editions later, that conversation has evolved into tangible progress. Ideas discussed on the FMC stage have contributed to the advancement of initiatives such as Open Banking, digital banking, modern payment infrastructure, and closer collaboration between the private sector, regulators, and policymakers.
The 2025 conference reflected the growing maturity of Moldova’s fintech ecosystem. Discussions focused on some of the industry’s most transformative topics, including artificial intelligence in financial services, instant payments, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, Open Finance, digital identity, and regional cooperation. Rather than looking only at emerging trends, speakers explored how these innovations can be translated into practical solutions that strengthen financial services and accelerate economic development.
The conference also demonstrated that Moldova’s fintech ambitions are increasingly aligned with the European financial ecosystem. High-level participation from government institutions, the National Bank of Moldova, international financial organizations, development partners, commercial banks, and global technology companies highlighted a shared commitment to digital transformation and closer integration with European financial standards. During the event, First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Moldova Petru Rotaru reaffirmed the country’s progress on initiatives such as SEPA, Instant Payments, and Open Banking as key pillars of Moldova’s financial modernization.
As the conference continues to grow, its role is expanding beyond being a national event. Fintech Moldova Conference is increasingly becoming a regional meeting point where international expertise connects with local innovation, creating opportunities for partnerships, investment, and knowledge exchange. The presence of speakers and participants from multiple countries further reinforced Moldova’s position as an emerging destination for fintech collaboration in Eastern Europe.
The seventh edition demonstrated how far the ecosystem has come since 2019. What began as a platform for dialogue has become a catalyst for collaboration, innovation, and real industry progress. More importantly, it signaled that Moldova is no longer simply following global fintech trends—it is actively contributing to them.
